Hi, I’m Matt Carless, a British Creative Designer with over 20 years of experience working across entertainment, toys, illustration, brands and consumer products.
Originally from the UK and based in Los Angeles since 2004, I’ve had the opportunity to work with global companies including The Walt Disney Company and Mattel, as well as a range of independent brands, studios and clients.
My work spans illustration, visual development, brand and IP development, graphic design, product graphics, packaging, merchandise and digital experiences. I enjoy taking an idea, character or brand and finding creative ways to develop it into something visually distinctive and engaging.
I've worked across both digital and physical applications, collaborating with creative, marketing and product teams to take projects from early concepts through to finished artwork and production.
I'm particularly drawn to projects that combine strong visual ideas, character, storytelling and physical products.
After more than 20 years in Los Angeles, my family and I are planning to return to the UK in 2027. I'm currently interested in connecting with UK companies, studios and creative teams for freelance, contract and longer-term opportunities.
